San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus – Chorus Bio

For nearly 40 years, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFGMC) has served as an international standard bearer for a powerful mix of extraordinary musical excellence and mission-driven activism. Founded in 1978, it was the first choral organization to courageously proclaim its orientation in its name and is credited with helping start the LGBT choral movement that now spans the entire globe, galvanizing and changing the course of LGBT history.

Dr. Timothy Seelig, Artistic Director

Known for his artistry, enthusiasm and sense of humor, Tim Seelig has been making music as a conductor, singer, and teacher for 35 years. Tim joined SFGMC in 2011.


Verdugo brings over 15 years of experience leading non-profit organizations, and comes to SFGMC after five successful years as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA). Chris joined SFGMC in 2016.
