Brandon Baranco serves as Area Manager for AT&T California where he represents the Company's interest before City and County elected officials, governmental departments and agencies. Brandon is also tasked with building stronger community relationships through collaborative partnerships, charitable giving, and utilizing Company resources to demonstrate our commitment to the community AT&T serves.

Prior to joining AT&T California, Brandon served as Chief of Staff to Oakland City Councilmember Treva Reid, Special Assistant to Vice Mayor Larry Reid and Deputy Chief of Staff to Councilmember Sheng Thao. Before joining the City of Oakland, Brandon served as a Field Representative for California State Assemblymember Nancy Skinner and Senior Field Representative for Assemblymember Tony Thurmond who represented the 15th Assembly District. 

Brandon served eight years in various positions on the Alameda County Democratic Central Committee and is serving his fourth term as Delegate to the California Democratic Party appointed by Congresswoman Barbara Lee. Brandon also was appointed twice to serve as a Member to the City of Oakland Budget Advisory Commission. 

 Born and raised in the City of Oakland, and a product of Oakland Public Schools, Brandon graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in History from the University of California, Merced and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Mills College.

Why I joined the Board:

To be a part of this institution that has been serving our community, creating family, and leading with unconditional love is such an honor. I joined the board because I believe in the mission of the organization and that the power of music can change lives which the SFGMC has been leading out on for 45 years.
