On Monday, October 23rd, we had the immense privilege of honoring Dr. Betty Sullivan for her extraordinary contributions to the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus during her tenure on the board from 2003-2009. As Co-Publisher/Co-Editor of the Bay Area Times, Dr. Sullivan has also been an invaluable media advocate for our organization. The touching ceremony included the presentation of a special award and a moving rendition of "Irish Blessing" sung in her honor. We're thrilled to share a video capturing these unforgettable moments—her award presentation, heartfelt speech, and the emotive musical tribute. Please join us in celebrating a true pillar of our community.

All too often, we find ourselves at a rehearsal coping with grief caused by tragedy and turmoil in our world. We find solace in being a part of a loving community and singing together.

As part of the Lavender Pen Tour the SF Gay Men's Chorus is on through 5 Southern states, we went to Selma, AL yesterday and marched across the historic Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, AL to add our voices to the continued fight for equal rights.

Like many of you, the 300+ members of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus family - singers, staff and volunteers - have spent the last few days navigating our collective way through feelings of shock and despair.
