nick slater

Nick joined the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) in September 2021, drawn by the chorus's impact through its use of music to inspire activism and resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, he has found support and community with his chorus siblings and has tried to give back in time, effort, and dedication to the organization. He sings as a member of The Lollipop Guild, one of the Chorus's celebrated ensemble groups, co-chaired the Membership Retreat Committee, and is a member of the Chorus's drag troupe, the DIVAS, main fundraisers for the singer's financial assistance network, Ryan's Fund

Nick received his Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Family, Youth and Community Sciences from the University of Florida and his Master’s of Public Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Cal State University East Bay. He has had the joy of building a career in project management and regulatory compliance with the University of California, San Francisco’s Neurology department as a Clinical Research Manager, overseeing federally-funded memory, aging, and neurodegenerative disease clinical trials and observational studies.

Nick joined the Board as SFGMC’s Member President with plans to lead with goal-directed action, provide an enhanced membership experience through community connecting initiatives and positive collaborative efforts, and contribute a strong and represented voice from the Chorus membership.
