DENISE GESHKE

Denise is Southern California native, graduating from UCLA with a BA and Economics and Business. She ventured north after college with a giant network of fellow Bruins and fell hard for the city of San Francisco. Pretty quickly she also fell hard for a Northern California law student, and, after a brief stint back in LA for an MBA at UCLA, she married this dashing lawyer and has remained rooted in the Bay ever since. Together, they have two grown kids and enjoy getting out of their comfort zones and eating salty snacks.

Her career included  Big 6 accounting and consulting, marketing at a visual effects software start-up and a 15-year stint teaching economics, business and accounting at a local community college. Her creative side finally took priority in 2019 when she launched her blog, “Do I have chalk on my face?”

Denise re-joins the board of SFGMC after serving on the board from 2019 to 2024 and serving as Treasurer from 2023 to 2024. She is excited and grateful to be a part of SFGMC, an organization that is an essential part of the personality and sparkle of city of SF. As someone who can’t carry a tune, she enjoys participating an arts organization and being surrounded by so much singing talent.
