TANYA BELLO

Tanya Bello joined the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus Board of Directors in August 2025, inspired by the organization’s commitment to artistic excellence, community engagement, and its transformative youth music program, RHYTHM.  A lifelong advocate for arts education, Tanya was particularly drawn to the Chorus’s mission to help young artists discover their authentic selves through creative expression- a vision that aligns deeply with her personal and professional values.

With over two decades of experience as an arts leader, choreographer, and arts administrator, Tanya brings a multifaceted perspective to the board.  She began her career with the Martha Graham Dance Company and Trust, where she also served as Liaison to the Library of Congress.  Her performance and teaching work spans New York, Washington, DC, Italy, and the Bay Area, including collaborations with Garrett/ Moulton Productions, Robert Moses’ Kin, ODC, Sonoma State University, and Dominican University.  She also founded and directed the contemporary dance company, Project. B., based in San Francisco.

Tanya’s dedication to building community through the arts extends to her work in placemaking. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Loudoun Arts Council and led the Ground Floor Project, a national arts and placemaking initiative at Wood Partners.  She now continues this work at Greystar, a global leader in multi-family real estate, where she partners with artists, residents, and stakeholders to bring culturally vibrant experiences to residential communities.

Through her role on the board, Tanya is honored to support and elevate the organization’s work as artists and changemakers in the Bay Area and beyond.
