Butch Merideth
Butch joined the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus in September 2023 and quickly found his way back to something he'd spent years building for others. He has also performed with The Lollipop Guild ensemble, and in several cabarets, and thrives in being able to join others in spreading the transformative power of music.
Butch is a seasoned healthcare executive and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience. He is the owner and operator of a Home Instead franchise in Kailua, Hawaiʻi. He holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication and Public Relations, both from California State University, Los Angeles.
Butch's connection to LGBTQ+ performing arts governance runs deep. He co-founded the Gay Men's Chorus of Honolulu in 2012, serving as its President and Executive Director through 2017 — overseeing all organizational governance, financial management, and community programming, and executive producing three full productions annually. Butch joined the SFGMC Board because he knows from experience what it takes to build and sustain a queer performing arts organization — and because this one, in his city and his community, is worth every bit of that effort.
