Colorful Flyer for SFGMC's Disney Pride in Concert

Disney Pride in Concert 2023

DAVIES SYMPHONY HALL
Thursday, March 16 and Friday, March 17, 2023

Get ready for hit songs from The Lion King, Aladdin, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Beauty & the Beast, Mulan, Hercules, Coco, and so many more in our extraordinary spring production, Disney PRIDE in Concert. Disney has been dazzling audiences for 100 years—and the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus is proud to celebrate our 45th anniversary with some of the most-loved music.

Music of such high quality is the hallmark of Disney Pride in Concert! We'll perform Disney's iconic songs alongside a 30-piece orchestra, celebrating themes including love, LGBTQ+ pride, and family ties. As well as showcasing Disney's globally acclaimed musical legacy, this program will also serve as a vehicle for our chorus members to share their personal journeys, and how this music has shaped their lives.

Both performances will feature ASL interpretation placed “house right/stage left.”

You don’t have to be a Disney fan to find something to love. No matter your age, background, or sexual orientation, the selection of songs will touch your heart.

Disney concerts offer a new world of wonder and possibility for those who have felt unworthy, struggled with self-acceptance, or wondered about their purpose in life. The magic of these events cannot be overstated.

Davies Symphony Hall

Returning to Davies Symphony Hall, this two-act spectacular—featuring the 250-member of the chorus and a 30-piece orchestra—combines over 40 classic and contemporary Disney songs with unique storylines that come directly from SFGMC chorus members.

It is with great pleasure that the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus returns to the Davies Symphony Hall for our Disney PRIDE in Concert. The Davies Symphony Hall was built in 1980 by Italian-American architect Pietro Belluschi in tribute to Louise Davies, a significant donor, who passed away on June 22, 1998.

The magnificent concert hall can accommodate over 2,700 people. A superb acoustic design also ensures that the Davies Symphony Hall provides a wonderful experience for every section, whether it is the Orchestra or the Loge, Tiers, or Terrace. However, we recommend you purchase your tickets as soon as possible to ensure you get the best seats and can enjoy the concert with your friends and family. Dress codes are generally loose, and visitors often wear relaxed and fun attire.

Detailed directions and parking information are available on the Davies Symphony's website

SFGMC goes to THE SF Zoo

On February 1st, we channeled our best Lion King vibes at the SF Zoo. Members of SFGMC visited the giraffes to spread the word about Disney Pride In Concert! While our new friends here might be a little too tall to fit inside Davies Symphony Hall, we invite YOU to join us on March 16th and 17th for what we guarantee will be a magical night filled with iconic music celebrating 100 years of Disney!
