Today is World AIDS Day - a day to remember those who we have lost, cherish their memories and celebrate their lives, while we continue to build up our community and look for a cure. The Chorus has lost over 300 members to HIV/AIDS since 1981, and we sing for them each time we take the stage.
San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFGMC) and Dr. Timothy Seelig, Artistic Director have announced the holiday performances for Season 40: Unstoppable, featuring three performances of Elfstravaganza, running December 8-9 at the Nourse Theater (275 Hayes St, San Francisco). Performances are Friday, December 8 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 9 at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets range in price from $25-99 and are available now on www.SFGMC.org or by calling City Box Office at (415) 392-4400.
The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFGMC) announced today that they have appointed Christopher Verdugo as Executive Director. Mr. Verdugo joins SFGMC in anticipation of the Chorus’ 39th Season, and together with Artistic Director Dr. Timothy Seelig, will lead the organization to new levels of growth, financial sustainability and artistic excellence.

Today, San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFGMC) and the SFGMC Divas announced its 5th Annual Dragathon event - "Dragathon Is Burning!" - on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Café (2369 Market St., San Francisco), raising much-needed funds for the SFGMC Financial Assistance Network (FAN). Admission is free.
Today, we announced our spring fundraising event at the home of Ann & Gordon Getty in San Francisco on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., featuring two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone, and honoring composer Jake Heggie with a Champion Award.

It was 40 years ago when author Armistead Maupin penned the very first article that became the international phenomenon of “Tales Of The City,” bringing the colorful life and times of San Francisco to the entire world. Maupin joins SFGMC for an evening full of stories and music about our home and its heroes, while revisiting this magical work of literature.
Today, we announced the final amount for our 2015 holiday fundraiser, benefiting the Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy (HMCRA), a local K-5 public school in the Castro neighborhood. SFGMC presented a check to HMCRA Principal Ron Machado and members of the Parent Faculty Club in the amount of $30,378.32.

Once again, YOUR chorus is making history. In October 2018, the Chorus will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary by taking a concert tour to China. It will be the first LGBT chorus to make such a tour.

James composed the fabulous and stunning #twitterlieder: 15 Tweets in 3 Acts song cycle, which had its world premiere this past spring at Davies Symphony Hall for our show “Passion.” The work was performed at the Twitter world headquarters, has since been recorded by the Chorus (purchase here) and published by E.C.
