The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus has hired Matthew Arnold as Development Manager. Arnold will work closely with the Board to increase contributed income for the Chorus through ongoing donor cultivation and stewardship.
Matthew Arnold served as Executive Director for the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus in Ohio, and as Managing Director for Choral Arts in Seattle. He has served as a funds development manager for multiple organizations, including the Seattle Men’s Chorus | Seattle Women’s Chorus. The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus has been a vital part of the city’s arts and culture scene for over 33 years. Arnold will help build on this successes by nurturing existing relationships and building new ones with individual donors, corporations and foundations.
“I am honored to be chosen to serve this esteemed organization. I personally identify with and admire the extraordinary work the Chorus does in the community and the wonderful music presented by the singers. To have the opportunity to join the team in expanding the reach of the organization in the Bay Area and beyond will be a very rewarding experience for me,” said Arnold.
“Matthew brings a wealth of talent and relevant experience to the Chorus. His dedication to culture-driven social change and his hands-on experience in the world of LGBT choruses will be great assets to us as we grow our base of support,” says Executive Director Teddy Witherington, adding: “We are most grateful to the San Francisco Arts Commission for partnering with us in our strategic vision and joining our ever-growing family of supporters.
The position is made possible, in large part, by the award of a Cultural Equity Initiative Grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission.
