A Few Licks

Released February 2009

The year was 1979 and out of the Chorus came The Lollipop Guild, taking its name from the trio of Munchkins who sang "we wish to welcome you to Munchkinland" in The Wizard of Oz.

A Few Licks is the first CD Maxi Single to be produced by SFGMC and features The Lollipop Guild at its very best: Fivea cappella – that means without instrumental accompaniment – masterpieces that showcase the beauty of the male voice. Starting with the bouncy rhythms of "Up The Ladder To The Roof," through the pathos of "Danny Boy," the soaring melody of "Africa," the tinglingly romantic "Lullaby" and ending with the smooth harmonies of "Goodnight, Sweetheart", A Few Licks will have you begging for more.

Recorded during 2008 at the Gala Choruses Festival in Miami and at our In The Moodconcert at Brava Theater Center in San Francisco, A Few Licks captures all the excitement of a live performance and the polish of a studio recording.
